Key Wins Propel USD Into Elite NCAA Round
The Toreros took the doubles point once again, a critical factor in their success this season, clinching that point for the 23rd time in 27 matches. The doubles teams of Adrien Berrut and Lambert Ruland, ranked 34th, and the No. 2 team of Oliver Tarvet and Stian Klaassen both secured straight-set victories.
In singles, the Toreros showed depth and precision. Oliver Tarvet, ranked 19th nationally, overcame UCLA’s Spencer Johnson 6-4, 7-5. Klaassen defeated Emon von Loben Sels 6-2, 7-6, and Ruland sealed the match with a commanding 6-3, 6-2 win over Aadarsh Tripathi.
“It’s a massive accomplishment for this program,” Tarvet said. “Winning the doubles point was massive for our confidence.”
