The East Ridge Police Department is actively searching for a male suspect who threw a football-sized rock at a bystander following a suspicious vehicle incident near 10 BLK Stadium Way on May 6. The suspect allegedly crashed a dark gray Toyota Corolla, bearing Georgia license plates, into a nearby fence before attempting to flee the scene.

Witnesses confronted the driver, who then threw the large rock, narrowly missing the individual but striking the reporting party’s vehicle. Police have classified the case as aggravated assault and are pursuing warrants once the suspect is identified.

No Immediate Signs After Reports of Gunshot near Navajo Drive

Earlier that day, police responded to a reported gunshot heard south of Navajo Drive and Alice Drive. Officers saturated the area but found no evidence of crime or further incident at the address 3300 Navajo Drive.

Additional Calls Include Animal Rescue, Crashes, and Disorderly Conduct

East Ridge officers also assisted in searching for a kitten believed to have been swept away by storm runoff near Claremont Avenue and Germantown Road, but the animal was not recovered.

On the night shift, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on South Seminole Drive involving no injuries but arrested a passenger wanted for evading arrest based on a Hamilton County Probationary Capias. The individual was safely transported to Hamilton County Jail.

Police were called to a fight at a business on 4300 BLK Ringgold Road, where several people reportedly fought in the parking lot. One person sustained a minor shoulder injury and was taken to a local hospital, but all involved parties declined to press charges.

Storm-Caused Road Hazards and Multi-Agency Tractor-Trailer Stop

Officers discovered two fallen trees blocking a roadway near 5300 Anderson Avenue, which firefighters promptly cleared to restore access.

In a coordinated response with Chattanooga Police, East Ridge officers helped safely detain a driver of a stolen tractor-trailer on I-75 Southbound near mile marker 0.2. The suspect was removed from the vehicle without incident, and Chattanooga authorities continued the investigation.
