A British wrestling fan attending WWE’s WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas was found dead in a motel off the Strip, officials confirmed on April 18. Marc Izard, 43, died from natural causes linked to underlying medical conditions while visiting Nevada for the wrestling event, according to his family and coroner officials.
Izard’s body was discovered at the Oasis Motel, 1731 South Las Vegas Blvd, located about five miles north of the T-Mobile Arena, where Friday Night SmackDown took place. His sister, Kelly Hall, shared the devastating news on Facebook, highlighting Izard’s deep passion for wrestling and how he died doing what he loved.
“We want to say a massive thank you to everyone that knew Marc both personally, and his wider wrestling family for their huge help and support over the last week in trying to find him,” Kelly Izard wrote.
Izard was last publicly seen attending a book signing for Canadian wrestler Natalya “Nattie” Neidhart at the Horseshoe Las Vegas on April 16 before going to SmackDown on April 17. The family lost contact with him after the event when he failed to board his scheduled return flight.
Concern for Izard’s whereabouts led to a missing person campaign initiated by the wrestling blog Perched on the Top Rope, with Neidhart amplifying the effort by sharing the poster across her social platforms, calling on wrestling fans to help locate him.
Following the confirmation of his death, Neidhart expressed heartbreak and solidarity with Izard’s family. “Hearing about the passing of someone from our wrestling family, Marc Izard, is heartbreaking,” she wrote on X. “Wrestling brings people together in such a special way, and moments like this remind us how precious life truly is.”
Izard was well known within the wrestling community, not only as a devoted spectator but a familiar face at indie wrestling events worldwide. His family shared photos showing his lifelong enthusiasm—posing with stars like John Cena, Hulk Hogan, and The Undertaker.
“Marc wasn’t just a spectator; he was a staple of the wrestling community. From his childhood days to his travels across the globe, Marc’s life was defined by his passion for the ring,” the family wrote in their tribute.
The family is currently seeking financial support to bring Izard’s remains back to the UK, extending gratitude to the wrestling world for their solidarity during this tragic loss.
This heartbreaking event reminds fans nationwide of the tight-knit bonds shared within sports communities and underscores the fragility of life even amid moments of joy and celebration.
