Thanksgiving Behind Bars: Diddy, Duggar, and Others’ Meals Revealed

Several high-profile individuals, including Sean “Diddy” Combs, Josh Duggar, Fetty Wap (real name Willie Maxwell II), and Jared Fogle, will spend Thanksgiving 2024 behind bars. Each will partake in a holiday meal specific to their respective correctional facilities, highlighting a stark contrast to traditional celebrations outside prison walls.

Diddy, aged 56, will celebrate Thanksgiving at Fort Dix in New Jersey, where he is serving a 50-month sentence for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. According to the holiday menu obtained by Us Weekly, Diddy will enjoy a turkey roast with gravy, accompanied by cornbread, baked sweet potatoes, and corn. As a light dinner option, inmates will also have a choice between a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a deli sandwich, along with potato chips and fruit. Diddy’s expected release date is June 4, 2028, after he was sentenced last month.

Duggar, currently 37, will observe Thanksgiving from FCI Seagoville in Texas, following his conviction for child pornography in 2021. His meal options include roast turkey with gravy or honey glazed ham, with a vegetarian alternative of vegetable lasagna or stuffed peppers. Sides include cornbread, broccoli and cheese casserole, green bean casserole, and candied sweet potatoes, finishing with a slice of pecan pie. The prison’s recreation department planned a weekend of activities, including games such as pass/punt/kick and ping-pong, ensuring a festive atmosphere for inmates. Duggar is serving over 12 years and is scheduled for release on December 23, 2032.

Meanwhile, Fetty Wap, aged 34, will also enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal at FCI Sandstone in Minnesota. His menu includes roasted turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, salad, cranberry sauce, and dinner rolls, topped off with pumpkin pie. The facility will offer church services and regular recreation activities during the holiday weekend. Fetty Wap, originally arrested in October 2021 for drug trafficking, is serving a six-year sentence and is expected to be released on December 8, 2026.

Fogle, the former Subway spokesperson, will have a similar Thanksgiving spread at FCI Englewood in Colorado. His meal includes roast turkey or honey ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, cornbread, and green bean casserole, with a choice of pumpkin or cherry pie for dessert. Fogle is serving a sentence of over 15 years for charges related to child pornography, with a scheduled release date of March 24, 2029.

In a reflection on the nature of holiday meals in prison, incarcerated writer Justin Slavinski noted, “Beyond the food, Thanksgiving is one of the few times of the year that we are treated with respect and dignity by those responsible for us.” This sentiment underscores the significance of such occasions, even within the confines of prison life.

As these individuals navigate their time behind bars, the Thanksgiving meals serve not only as sustenance but also as a reminder of the connections to family and traditions they are missing during the holiday season.
