Free Thanksgiving Meals Available Across Bangor Area This Thursday

URGENT UPDATE: A variety of institutions in the Bangor area are stepping up to provide free Thanksgiving meals this Thursday, November 23, 2023. Residents in northern and eastern Maine can access these meals, ensuring no one is left without a holiday feast.

Bangor will host several locations offering complimentary meals. The Hammond St Congregational Church at 28 High St. opens its doors at noon, serving meals from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Meanwhile, the Mansion Church located at 96 Center St. will provide meals from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

In Dexter, the Gatherings at 4 Main St. will offer a plant-based meal from noon to 1:30 p.m. The VFW Post 4298 at 20 Cedar St. is serving meals earlier, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Moving to Dover-Foxcroft, the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church at 824 W. Main St. will provide meals starting at noon.

In Ellsworth, the Conscious Café in collaboration with the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry at 50 Church St. will serve meals from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Residents in Hermon can visit the Lynde Lodge at 2500 Route 2 for their Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m..

Lastly, Old Town will host a meal at the Christ Church of Faith, located at 2274 Bennoch Road, starting at 2 p.m. and the Searsport Apostolic Church at 71 East Main St. will serve meals at 5 p.m.
