Louis Goldberg, Esteemed Engineer and Attorney, Passes Away at 89

Louis Edward Goldberg, a dedicated engineer and attorney, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 after a lengthy battle with cancer. His family announced his death, emphasizing his strength and resilience throughout his illness.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on September 15, 1936, Louis grew up in Arizona alongside his parents, David and Paula Goldberg, and his sister, Evelyn. He later married his beloved wife, Sheila Burd Goldberg, and together they established their home in California, where they raised their children and created a loving family environment.

Louis pursued higher education diligently. He attended Arizona State University before graduating from the University of Arizona. He then earned his law degree from South Bay University School of Law. His professional journey began as an engineer, but he later transitioned to a successful career as an attorney, dedicating himself to his legal practice until retiring at the age of 73.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Louis was passionate about sports and enjoyed a variety of activities. His interests included playing sports, practicing karate, watching college basketball, and exploring new restaurants. Most importantly, he cherished the time spent with his family, instilling strong values in his children and grandchildren.

Louis is survived by his children, Robert Goldberg and his wife Elaine, Michelle Goldberg Smith and her husband Kevin, and Sheri Goldberg Frazin and her husband Alvin. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jennifer Sher and her husband Rabbi Daniel, Steven Smith and his wife Kelby, Amanda Goldberg and her fiancé Zach, Andrew Goldberg and his wife Emily, Rachel Frazin Sofaer, and Sarah Bowens and her husband Brandon. Louis also leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Levi, Sami, Lily, Rory, and Ari.

A memorial service honoring Louis was held on November 16, 2025, at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles, California. Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life and contributions, reflecting on cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
