Beloved Emma Jo Jones, 29, Passes Away; Memorial Service Set

URGENT UPDATE: Emma Jo Jones, a vibrant 29-year-old, tragically passed away on November 12, 2025, leaving a profound impact on her family and friends. The community mourns the loss of a woman whose infectious spirit and laughter brightened every room she entered.

Emma, a devoted daughter, sister, and friend, was born to Rebecca Jones and the late Dennis Jones. She grew up as one of three triplets alongside Ella and Evan Jones, and was the beloved younger sister of Molly Hawthorne. Her untimely passing has left a void that will be felt by all who knew her.

Graduating from Governor Mifflin High School in 2014, Emma excelled both academically and athletically, showcasing her talent as a dedicated lacrosse player. She went on to earn a degree in Biology from Lebanon Valley College in 2018, where she was honored as the MVP for the 2017-2018 season and named the Outstanding Female Athlete of 2018. Lacrosse was more than a sport to Emma; it was a community that reflected her determination and loyalty.

In her professional life, Emma served as a lab technician in Berks County and later advanced to a lab scientist role in West Virginia, where she was living at the time of her passing. Many will also remember her vibrant presence at Zia Maria’s Restaurant in Adamstown, where she and her sister Molly created an unforgettable team known for their energy and laughter.

Emma’s personality was bold and unforgettable. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel valued and cherished, and her generosity knew no bounds. Her sense of humor and warmth resonated deeply with all who crossed her path.

Emma is survived by her mother, Rebecca, her significant other Eric, her siblings Molly, Ella, and Evan, and her cherished nieces who adored their “Auntie Em.” She also leaves behind her Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Bart, who ignited her love for fishing, and her “second father,” Seth Remp, who played a vital role in her life.

As the community grapples with this heartbreaking loss, prayers and words of remembrance will be shared on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, located at 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611. The family will welcome friends and relatives from 12:00 noon until the service begins.
