Gerald R. Cote, Former GE VP, Passes Away at 85 in NY

BREAKING: Gerald R. Cote, a notable former Vice President at General Electric, passed away on November 12 at the age of 85. Born on July 21, 1940, in Derry, NH, Cote’s remarkable career and legacy resonate deeply within the communities he served.

Cote, who graduated from Pinkerton High School and later earned an engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, dedicated over three decades to General Electric. His impressive journey included various roles across the United States, culminating in Vice Presidential positions in Louisville, KY, and Schenectady, NY.

Beyond his professional achievements, Cote was known for his fervent love of sports. He played multiple sports in high school and continued his passion for athletics at college. A devoted father, he cherished coaching his late son, Brian Cote, in little league and high school baseball. In his later years, he discovered golf, which became a cherished hobby, enjoyed both competitively and recreationally with friends and family.

As a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, he never missed a game, often watching or listening intently. Cote’s family includes his surviving children, Andrew (Sydney) and Christopher (Julia), along with two great-grandchildren, Sunday and Archer, who brought him immense joy and pride.
