The Balloon Museum will launch its latest exhibition, titled “Let’s Fly – Art Has No Limits,” in Dallas on November 22, 2023. This exciting multisensory experience, created by the Italy-based company Lux Entertainment, will explore the themes of art, air, and creativity within a space of over 65,000 square feet. The exhibition will remain open until April 26, 2026, and is located at South Side Studios, 2901 Botham Jean Boulevard.
“Let’s Fly” features a diverse array of installations from 18 renowned international artists, showcasing large-scale artworks and luminous displays. The exhibition aims to challenge viewers’ perceptions while inviting them to engage in a journey of exploration. It emphasizes the concepts of flight, freedom, and lightness, using air both as a physical element and a metaphor for limitless travel and movement.
According to Roberto Fantauzzi, founder of Lux Entertainment, “With its world-class arts scene and bold, design-driven landscape, Dallas offers the perfect backdrop for Balloon Museum’s ‘Let’s Fly.’ We’re proud to bring an exhibition that reflects the city’s scale and spirit — dynamic, creative, and constantly in motion, always reaching for what’s next.”
Featured Artists and Installations
The exhibition includes a variety of captivating works. Among the featured artists, Sasha Frolova presents “Fountain of Eternity and Kaleidoscope,” which blends sculpture and performance. Lucas Zanotto engages visitors with “Squeezed In,” an installation filled with oversized characters.
Other notable contributions include Alex Schweder’s “Her Joy,” a mirrored sphere that reflects light, and Cyril Lancelin’s exploration of geometric forms in “Crazy Love for Polygons.” Camilla Falsini imagines a dreamlike city with “D.R.E.A.M.S Dove Raggiungere e Ammirare Mondi Straordinari,” while Myeongbeom Kim presents “Balloon Tree,” merging nature with artistic expression.
Additionally, Michael Shaw introduces “Lava Lamp,” a 44-meter psychedelic installation inspired by the iconic lamp from 1963. Christopher Schardt will showcase “Mariposa,” a luminous butterfly sculpture featuring 39,000 LEDs, creating an interactive experience for attendees. Visitors will be able to swing beneath its wings, activating synchronized light and sound sequences.
Interactive Experiences and Engagement
The Balloon Museum is committed to redefining the art experience. The curatorial team emphasizes active participation, transforming traditional observation into interactive engagement. The exhibition invites visitors to touch, see, and hear the art, fostering a deeper emotional connection.
Additional exhibits include works by Karina Smigla-Bobinski, who engages the audience with her kinetic charcoal-drawing sphere “ADA,” and Sila Sveta, who unveils “AIRSCAPE,” a virtual reality journey through fantastical worlds. The project “AI Data Portal” by Ouchhh transforms environmental data into dynamic visual interpretations, further enhancing the interaction between art and technology.
Since its founding in Rome in 2021, the Balloon Museum has become a global phenomenon, attracting over 7 million visitors and showcasing more than 60 artists across three continents. It has been recognized with the Best Event Award in 2022 and 2023 for Best Proprietary Format and has served as a filming location for scenes in the series “Emily in Paris.”
