Upcoming Community Events in Luzerne County: Don’t Miss Out!

UPDATE: A series of exciting community events are happening in Luzerne County this week, offering activities for all ages! Don’t miss out on these opportunities to engage with local culture, support important causes, and enjoy family-friendly fun.

Wyoming Valley Art in the Garden Exhibition is on display until Friday, October 24 at the Schulman Gallery, Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke. This exhibition showcases stunning works from artists who participated in the 2025 Back Mountain Gardens tour, presented with the Back Mountain Bloomers Garden Club. Best of all, it’s free and open to the public!

On Saturday, October 25, the Wyoming Valley Stamp Club will host a Halloween-themed event at 1 PM at Hoyt Library in Kingston. The program celebrates National Stamp Collection Month with a Trick or Treat table for children, a “Haunted Library” display, and a special presentation on horror and Halloween stamps. This event is also free and welcomes new members!

Additionally, the Prescription Drug Take Back drive-thru event is scheduled for 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Saturday, October 25 at the rear parking lot of the Luzerne County Courthouse. The Luzerne/Wyoming Counties Drug and Alcohol Program will provide Narcan, drug deactivation pouches, and medication lock bags, along with free child safety seat fittings.

Get ready for more fun on Sunday, October 26 with the Wyoming Valley Women’s Club fashion show and scholarship fundraiser at 12:30 PM at the Holiday Inn, Wilkes-Barre East Mountain. Mark your calendars for the Domestic Violence Service Center’s A Night at Sabatini’s fundraiser on Tuesday, October 28, from 6 to 9 PM at Sabatini’s Bottleshop and Bar. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door, featuring unlimited pizza and three drink tickets. This event is for ages 21 and older and includes a large basket raffle. Don’t miss the Wyoming Valley Real Estate Investors Association meeting at 7 PM on Tuesday, October 28, at Grotto Pizza in Wilkes-Barre Township. Guest speaker Rochelle Dotzel, CPA, will present. Visitors will pay $15 at the door, which can be applied to an annual membership fee of $85 if they join.

For a taste of tradition, the Back Mountain Chicken and Biscuit Dinner takes place on Saturday, October 25, from 4 to 6:30 PM at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Dallas.
