Clintons Testify Before House Oversight Committee on Epstein Links

The House Oversight Committee has released the complete depositions of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton, focusing on the investigation into the activities of Jeffrey Epstein. Their testimonies, which were conducted in closed-door sessions last week, totalled over four hours each. The release comes amidst ongoing public scrutiny regarding their connections to Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Committee Chairman James Comer emphasized the importance of the testimony, stating, “The American people have a lot of questions. To my knowledge, the Clintons haven’t answered very many, if any, questions about their knowledge or involvement with Epstein and Maxwell.” He clarified that there are currently no accusations against the Clintons, ensuring they will receive due process.

Hillary Clinton’s Testimony

During her deposition, Hillary Clinton asserted that she had never met Epstein. In her opening statement, she criticized the committee for allegedly using her and her husband’s testimonies to divert attention from former President Donald Trump. “You have compelled me to testify, fully aware that I have no knowledge that would assist your investigation, in order to distract attention from President Trump’s actions,” she stated.

Clinton also discussed a $20,000 donation from Epstein to her senatorial campaign in 1999, stating, “My understanding of the rules back then is that there was no coordination between the committee and the campaign. So, no, I have no recollection.” When questioned about the so-called “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory in relation to the Epstein files, she categorically denied any connection, calling the allegation “totally made up.”

Referring to incidents arising from the conspiracy theory, Clinton lamented, “It was an outrageous allegation that ended up hurting a number of people.” She acknowledged that her husband had flown on Epstein’s private plane on “several trips,” but she maintained that the Secret Service was not involved on those flights.

Bill Clinton’s Deposition

In contrast, Bill Clinton, who has been documented in flight logs and photographs with Epstein, also denied any wrongdoing. When shown several images, including one of him in a hot tub with an unidentified woman, he stated that he did not know her and had not engaged in any sexual activities. He characterized his relationship with Epstein as “cordial” but clarified, “We were friendly, but I didn’t know him well enough to say we were friends.”

Clinton acknowledged attending Epstein’s home and taking trips with him, but he was adamant that he never communicated with Epstein regarding young women or girls. He stated, “No,” when asked if he had any discussions related to such topics. Interestingly, he confirmed that Ghislaine Maxwell attended their daughter Chelsea Clinton‘s wedding but claimed he had no knowledge of her actions at that time.

During the questioning, Bill Clinton described Epstein as a “vacuum cleaner” who sought information on various topics, including finance. “At first, he really seemed to be like a vacuum cleaner, like he really wanted information,” he noted, although he insisted that nothing about their interactions was overtly manipulative.

As of now, neither Hillary nor Bill Clinton faces any charges related to their associations with Epstein. Being named in Epstein’s files does not imply any wrongdoing. The testimonies are part of a broader inquiry aimed at uncovering the extent of Epstein’s network and the involvement of various public figures.
