On February 6, 2026, Caryn and Billy Smith from Phoenix visited the Cabazon Dinosaurs for the first time. “I think it’s really neat that they paint them,” Caryn remarked, expressing her appreciation for the seasonal decorations. The couple was on a road trip to Huntington Beach and made the stop to experience the whimsical charm of this renowned landmark.
Located in Riverside County, the Cabazon Dinosaurs have been a beloved sight for travelers for decades. The attraction is featured in various films, including *Pee-wee’s Big Adventure* and *The Wizard*. Visitors can explore more than 100 dinosaur sculptures, with Mr. Rex and Dinny being two of the most recognized figures on the property.
Families are drawn to the site year after year. Jason and Erin Pagano from Huntington Beach, along with their daughters Presley, 8, Navy, 5, and Delaney, 2, returned to the Cabazon Dinosaurs during their annual trip to Rancho Mirage for a Super Bowl weekend golf tournament. “We have stopped here every year on this trip,” Erin said. “This is a favorite spot.”
The Pagano family’s connection to the dinosaurs runs deep. Jason recalled visiting the site during his childhood, now sharing the experience with his own children. “The girls love to see it,” he noted, adding, “and we love to see it painted with all the flowers.”
The dinosaurs have been creatively transformed for various occasions in the past, taking on themes such as pumpkins for Halloween, Santa Claus for Christmas, and even tributes to the late Paul Reubens, famous for his character Pee-wee Herman. The colorful decorations not only attract visitors but also create cherished memories for families.
The Cabazon Dinosaurs Park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.
