Members of the NEPA Republicans visited Washington D.C. on January 21, 2023, to engage with leaders at both the White House and the Capitol. The trip, arranged by U.S. Representative Dan Meuser from Pennsylvania’s 9th District, included 13 members of the organization.
T.J. Fitzgerald, founder and chairman of NEPA Republicans, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity. “It was the first time in my life that I was overwhelmed,” Fitzgerald stated, highlighting the significance of the visit for the group. He noted that the members “felt valued” during their time in the nation’s capital.
While at the Capitol, the group had the chance to enjoy lunch with Meuser and fellow Republican Rob Bresnahan. This interaction provided a platform for members to discuss important issues and gain insights directly from their representatives.
The visit underscored the commitment of NEPA Republicans to foster stronger connections with political leaders and enhance their involvement in national discussions. By engaging directly with representatives, the group aims to amplify their voices and concerns on key issues impacting their community.
This trip is part of a broader effort by NEPA Republicans to increase political awareness and participation among its members. Such initiatives are vital for grassroots organizations seeking to influence policy and engage more actively in the political process.
Fitzgerald concluded that the experience was not only memorable but also essential for strengthening the relationship between local constituents and their elected officials. By visiting Washington D.C., NEPA Republicans are taking significant steps toward greater civic engagement and representation.
