In a statement, Marlay said, “Following the pandemic, we have seen the Chicago Market recover and grow. However, footfall remains inconsistent in the area due to ongoing hybrid working and increased operating costs. These factors have made it challenging to achieve sustainable profitability.”
The Market has been a celebrated part of the Fulton Market neighborhood, known for its dynamic food scene. Marlay highlighted the contributions of the Market’s team and the local culinary talent, noting, “It has been an honour to serve Chicago.
