The community of West St. Paul is mourning the passing of Gail K. Wold, who died at the age of 87. Known for her deep commitment to faith, family, and music, she left behind a legacy that touched many lives. Gail is survived by her children, Janelle (Todd) Rau and Kevin (Jodi) Wold, along with four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her passing marks the end of a life filled with service and dedication.
Gail Wold was not only a cherished mother and grandmother but also a long-time musician within her church community. She dedicated over 70 years to serving as a church musician and directed the children’s choir for more than 50 years. Her passion for music was matched only by her commitment to volunteerism, spending 45 years assisting at the Minnesota Zoo. These contributions reflect her vibrant spirit and love for both people and animals.
Remembering a Life of Service and Music
Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Howie Wold, and her parents, Gil and Ellen. A graduate of Park High School class of 1956, she remained a central figure in her community through her musical talents and volunteer work. Friends and family remember her as a person who brought joy and harmony into their lives.
Visitation services are scheduled for Friday, December 19, 2023, from 16:00 to 19:00 at the King of Kings Lutheran Church located at 1583 Radio Drive, Woodbury. The funeral service will take place the following day, December 20, 2023, beginning at 11:00, with an hour of visitation starting at 10:00. A luncheon will follow the service, providing an opportunity for loved ones to gather and share their memories of Gail.
Memorial contributions are preferred in lieu of flowers, allowing her legacy of kindness and service to continue in the community. Gail Wold’s remarkable life serves as an inspiration to many, and her contributions will be felt for years to come.
