Celebrate Your Pup at FWBG’s Dog Days This Weekend

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden (FWBG) invites dog lovers to enjoy a weekend dedicated to their furry friends during the upcoming Dog Days event. Scheduled for March 15-16, 2024, this unique occasion allows visitors to explore the Garden from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., while enjoying the company of their pets.

For an additional fee of $5 per dog, guests can bring their pets along as they stroll through the scenic landscape. Regular admission rates apply for human attendees, while FWBG members—both human and canine—can enter free of charge. Visitors will find hydration stations available throughout the campus to keep their dogs refreshed during their visit.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, FWBG has established several guidelines that guests and their pets must follow. All dogs must remain on a leash, be over four months old, and up to date on their vaccinations. Dogs in heat are not permitted on the premises.

Proper care for the environment is also a priority; owners are required to bag and dispose of their pets’ waste in designated trash receptacles, with bags provided by the Garden. Additionally, dogs are not allowed in specific areas, including the Rock Springs Café, Rainforest Conservatory, or on trams.

FWBG emphasizes the importance of socialization and good behavior among pets. Garden staff reserves the right to ask owners to leave if their dogs display aggressive behavior. Visitors are encouraged to keep their dogs on trails, pathways, and open lawn areas to maintain the beauty of the Garden and its horticultural displays.

Dog owners are responsible for their pets, and FWBG disclaims any liability for injuries or illnesses that may occur. Guests should also be mindful when interacting with unfamiliar dogs, particularly around children, ensuring that all encounters are safe and controlled.

To maintain the Garden’s cleanliness, pet owners are asked to collect all dog treats, waste, and any belongings before leaving. The FWBG staff recommends that human guests wear sturdy walking shoes and take precautions against sun exposure while enjoying the day.

As Dog Days approaches, pet owners can look forward to an exciting weekend filled with fun and community camaraderie in the stunning natural setting of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.
