In Chawton, the village where Austen spent her final years, Jane Austen’s House hosted a series of engaging events. The museum, filled with artifacts from Austen’s life, organized talks, guided tours, and performances for dozens of visitors. These activities celebrated Austen’s legacy as the author of classics such as Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility.
The celebratory atmosphere extended beyond Chawton. In Steventon, the rural village where Austen was born, a church service featuring music and readings brought fans together to reflect on her impact. Festivities included Regency balls and themed festivals held not only in the United Kingdom but also across the United States and beyond. Recently, the city of Bath, where Austen lived for five years, hosted the Yuletide Jane Austen Birthday Ball, marking the finale of a series of grand costumed events held in her honour throughout the year.
