UPDATE: A dramatic car crash in Muskegon County, Michigan, was captured on a homeowner’s security camera Saturday night, revealing a harrowing rescue as neighbors rushed to help. The incident occurred on East Laketon, when a driver allegedly ran through a stop sign, colliding with another vehicle.
Witnesses describe the scene as chaotic. Robin Wymer, the homeowner, reported hearing the crash moments before seeing the vehicle careening towards her house. “It’s an ugly sight. I hear a crash, which I’m familiar with that noise,” Wymer stated. “I quickly look up at my surveillance camera and, ‘Oh my god, there is a vehicle coming right towards my house.’”
Her husband, Tim Theodore, immediately sprang into action after hearing Wymer’s scream. He rushed outside and discovered a man ejected from his vehicle, which was engulfed in flames. “He runs out there, sees the gentleman had been ejected and the vehicle’s on fire, so he proceeds to drag the gentleman away from the flames,” Wymer recounted.
Muskegon Township police confirmed that the crash involved a man who disregarded the stop sign, colliding with another vehicle driven by a woman. The conditions of both drivers remain unknown, and authorities suspect that alcohol and/or drugs may have played a role in the incident.
The video footage also shows other neighbors joining Theodore in the rescue effort, showcasing a remarkable community response to the emergency. Wymer expressed her pride in her husband’s actions, stating, “He’s my hero. My husband will help anybody.”
