BREAKING: A woman wanted for child rape in Hawaii has been arrested in Worcester, Massachusetts. Coleen Kuamo`o, also known as Malama Kuamo`o, aged 43, was apprehended by U.S. Marshals on Thursday after being tracked down following a tip-off from authorities in Hawaii.
Kuamo`o faces serious charges in Hawaii, including one count of sexual assault in the first degree, three counts of sexual assault in the third degree, and one count of using a computer in the commission of a crime. The allegations stem from an incident involving a child in Wailuku, Hawaii.
Acting U.S. Marshal for Massachusetts, Kevin Neal, stated, “Anyone who thinks they can flee across the country to avoid facing justice is mistaken.” He emphasized the commitment of the U.S. Marshals Service to ensure that fugitives like Kuamo`o are brought to justice, regardless of their location.
The arrest comes as part of a collaborative effort between the Maui Police Department and the U.S. Marshals in Hawaii, who informed their Massachusetts counterparts about Kuamo`o’s likely whereabouts. Marshals successfully located her in Worcester, confirming the urgency of her capture.
In addition to this significant arrest, the Boston Police Department reported a surge in incidents over the weekend, with officers responding to 299 incidents between 10 a.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. These incidents included two robberies, six aggravated assaults, and multiple thefts from vehicles, highlighting ongoing public safety concerns in the area.
Authorities are reminding the public that all individuals named in police reports are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
As the investigation continues, local residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. The U.S. Marshals Service is actively pursuing other fugitives, underscoring the importance of community cooperation in tackling crime.
