Two Arrested in Belmont Shore Shooting Death Early Saturday

UPDATE: Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man early Saturday morning in Belmont Shore, California. Long Beach police confirmed the arrests on Sunday, stating that officers responded to a shooting incident at approximately 1:40 a.m. on October 25, 2023, in the 100 block of La Verne Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical assistance, he was pronounced dead at the scene. According to police, the shooting was the result of a dispute that escalated outside a nearby bar in Belmont Shore.

Detectives revealed that the confrontation continued onto La Verne Avenue, where 41-year-old Jason Loving allegedly drew a firearm and shot the victim before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Authorities launched a swift investigation, leading to the arrests of both Loving and 31-year-old Dasmine Hall in Compton.

Jason Loving, a resident of Harbor City, faces serious charges including murder, illegal possession of firearms, and violating a restraining order. His bail has been set at $2 million. Dasmine Hall, also arrested in Compton, is charged with murder and being an accessory to the crime. Her bail is similarly set at $2 million.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members, as the investigation remains ongoing.
