UPDATE: The highly anticipated 19th annual Coaches Choice USA Staten Island vs. New Jersey Challenge is set to kick off this Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Moore Catholic High School in Graniteville. Basketball fans can expect an action-packed day featuring five thrilling games that promise high competition and emotional moments.
The event, which showcases talent from both Staten Island and New Jersey, will spotlight a unique matchup in the second game: Staten Island Academy will face off against Bound Brook, both led by distinguished coaches who are former Jaques Award winners. This season marks the debut of Sandy Litkenhaus at the helm of SIA, a significant moment as she was honored with the Jaques Award following the 1986-87 season. Her opponent, Jen Derenjanik, a legendary figure and one of only two three-time winners from 1998-2000, is entering her 12th season coaching Bound Brook.
