The opening event, taking place from 3 PM to 5 PM at the 1911 Historic City Hall, is free and open to the public. Attendees can enjoy live music from Sean Hager and indulge in culinary delights like jambalaya and baked beans. “The season really is like a buffet,” said Brook Hanemann, director of the Banners Series, emphasizing the range of experiences available.
This year’s lineup features 16 events spanning from March 1 to April 30, designed to stimulate both the mind and senses. The series includes musical genres from 17th-century classics to contemporary rock and pop, alongside thought-provoking readings and discussions.
Tickets for individual events are priced at just $20, with free admission for students from McNeese and SOWELA Technical Community College with a valid ID. Special free season passes will be provided to educators, first responders, and individuals aged 80 and older. Membership packages are also available, ranging from $80 to $550, which includes exclusive access to the fall’s Rouge et Blanc wine and food event.
