UPDATE: Students in the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District have achieved remarkable success in state testing, consistently outperforming their peers across California and Santa Clara County this year. The latest results from the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress and the California Science Test reveal that nearly 84% of test-takers exceeded state standards in English and language arts, a significant improvement compared to 48.8% statewide.
In what’s being hailed as a monumental achievement, the district ranked No. 1 in the state for English and language arts and No. 3 for math. Approximately 68% of juniors at Los Gatos and Saratoga high schools surpassed math expectations, compared to just 37% statewide. Furthermore, nearly 60% of students exceeded science standards, contrasting sharply with the 33% state average.
“This is a testament to the dedication and perseverance of our students and staff,” said Superintendent Heath Rocha. “While we’re incredibly proud of these achievements, we also recognize that state tests are just one measure of student success.”
These impressive results come at a crucial time, emphasizing the academic excellence within the district. The data not only showcases the capabilities of the students but also highlights the effective educational strategies employed by the district.
Looking ahead, education officials will continue to monitor these developments, focusing on enhancing student performance across all subjects. The district plans to implement further support programs to maintain and improve these high standards.
In related news, Los Gatos High School has launched a new bike registration program aimed at ensuring safety on campus. This initiative requires students to register their bikes and e-bikes, which will help reduce illegal parking and enhance campus security.
