Last Two Suspects Arrested in Major Creedmoor Drug Bust

UPDATE: The final two suspects linked to a significant drug trafficking operation in Creedmoor, North Carolina, have been arrested, according to the Granville County Sheriff’s Office. This development comes just days after a major drug crackdown led to the capture of ten individuals involved in the operation.

Earlier today, authorities confirmed that Travis Keyshawn Johnson, 23, and Marcus Shadell Lockett, 52, are now in custody, following an extensive investigation by the Granville County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE). The crackdown targeted a network reportedly distributing drugs near schools and recreational areas in Creedmoor.

The arrests took place at the City Tavern located at 404 N Main St, a known focal point for drug activities. Just yesterday, ALE released a statement detailing the operation, emphasizing the urgency of the situation given the proximity of drug distribution to vulnerable community spaces.

The Granville County Sheriff’s Office reported that Johnson was apprehended during a traffic stop near Butner, where law enforcement seized 9 grams of cocaine and 58 grams of marijuana. He now faces multiple charges, including felony possession with intent to sell or deliver controlled substances. Additionally, he is charged with maintaining a vehicle for drug-related activities linked to a GMC Sierra 2500 pickup truck.

Lockett was taken into custody without incident by investigators from the Special Operations Division. He faces charges of felony conspiracy to sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substances.

The operation highlights a broader crackdown on drug trafficking in the area, with a total of 12 suspects involved and over 100 felony charges filed. This concerted effort by local authorities underscores their commitment to eradicating drug-related crimes that pose a danger to the community.

As the investigation continues, officials are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. The Granville County Sheriff’s Office will be monitoring the situation closely, and updates will be provided as they arise.

This urgent situation serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against drug trafficking that affects communities nationwide. The successful arrests of Johnson and Lockett mark a significant step in addressing these critical issues and restoring safety to the Creedmoor area.
