UPDATE: A high school teacher in Angola, Indiana has been arrested following a shocking incident where two students ingested THC edibles left out in her classroom. This urgent news broke on the morning of November 14, 2023, when the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the situation.
According to officials, the school resource officer at Angola High School received reports that the two students had unknowingly consumed the THC candy during the last class period of the previous day. The students were unaware that the candy contained THC and had simply found it left out in the classroom.
After law enforcement initiated an investigation, they discovered that the THC edibles were brought into the classroom by a 49-year-old teacher from Reading, Michigan. Authorities further revealed that additional food items suspected to contain THC were allegedly found on the teacher’s person.
In a troubling twist, police also believe the teacher may have operated a vehicle while impaired. She has been booked into the Steuben County Jail on preliminary charges including felony neglect of a dependent, felony possession of a controlled substance on school property, and a misdemeanor for operating while intoxicated. She is currently being held on a $6,500 bond.
