Ford Issues Urgent Recall for 163,250 Bronco SUVs Over Safety Risk

URGENT UPDATE: Ford has just announced a significant safety recall impacting 163,250 Bronco SUVs due to a defect that could heighten the risk of injury during crashes. This recall affects only Bronco models sold in 2021, 2022, and 2023, as confirmed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Documents submitted to the NHTSA reveal that the height adjust pivot bolts in the front seats might be loose or dislodged. This defect could prevent the seat from effectively restraining an occupant during a collision, significantly increasing the likelihood of injuries. Ford advises Bronco owners to be vigilant for signs of front seat issues, including any unusual squeaks, rattles, or looseness.

Owners of the affected vehicles will begin receiving notifications by mail starting December 1, 2025. The recall will allow affected owners to bring their vehicles to a Ford dealership, where technicians will replace the faulty pivot links and bolts at no charge.

This recall adds to a series of recent safety concerns for Ford. Earlier this year, the automaker recalled approximately 21,700 SUVs and sedans in August due to failing lights and turn signal issues. Additionally, in May, over 273,000 SUVs were recalled over brake line defects that could lead to fluid leaks, and in April, more than 33,000 SUVs faced recalls due to fuel leak concerns, which could increase the risk of engine fires.

To check if your vehicle is impacted, Ford owners can call the company’s customer service line at (866) 436-7332 or reach out to the NHTSA’s safety hotline at (888) 327-4236.

This recall serves as a critical reminder for Bronco owners to stay alert and ensure their vehicle’s safety features are intact. Stay tuned for more updates as this developing story unfolds.
