Chelsea Appoints Liam Rosenior as New Manager Until 2032

Chelsea Football Club has officially appointed Liam Rosenior as their new manager on a long-term contract lasting until 2032. This decision comes following the club’s separation from former manager Enzo Maresca on January 1, due to escalating tensions with ownership that were deemed unsustainable. The club quickly identified Rosenior, who was already affiliated with the BlueCo network through his role with Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.

After negotiations, Rosenior returned to Strasbourg for a press conference where he bid farewell to the club and confirmed his impending move to Chelsea. He has now signed the contract and has been officially unveiled as the manager of the Blues.

In his introductory press conference, Rosenior expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. “I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club,” he stated. He emphasized the club’s rich history and culture of winning, stating, “My job is to protect that identity and create a team that reflects these values in every game we play as we continue winning trophies.”

Rosenior also revealed that he will be joined by two key assistants: Kalifa Cissé, a former centre back with clubs including Reading and Derby, and Justin Walker, alongside Ben Warner, the head of analysis. Their collective experience is expected to bolster Chelsea’s ambitions on the pitch.

“I believe deeply in teamwork, unity, togetherness and working for one another, and those values will be at the heart of everything we do,” Rosenior added. He conveyed his excitement about working with the talented squad, aiming to foster a strong bond both on and off the field.

Rosenior’s first match in charge is yet to be confirmed, but Chelsea is scheduled to face Fulham on January 3. Calum McFarlane, currently managing the Under-21 team, is expected to oversee that fixture following a 1-1 draw with Manchester City. Rosenior is likely to attend the match, after which he will take over training sessions leading up to the FA Cup third-round clash against Charlton Athletic on January 10.

Following that, Rosenior will guide Chelsea into a significant Carabao Cup semifinal first leg against Arsenal on January 14. His initial Premier League outing will occur on January 17, when Chelsea hosts Brentford. The team will also contend with Pafos from the Cypriot First Division in the UEFA Champions League on January 21, as they strive for crucial points to enhance their chances of automatic qualification for the knockout stages.

With high expectations surrounding this appointment, Rosenior’s leadership will be pivotal as Chelsea seeks to reclaim its place among the elite in both domestic and European competitions.
