Blue Devils Aim for Strong Finish Against Wildcats in Season Finale

The Tift County Blue Devils (3-6, 0-4 Region 1 6A) are determined to end their season positively as they host the Camden County Wildcats (5-4, 0-4 Region 1 6A) for their regular season finale on October 30, 2025. The matchup will take place at Brodie Field, kicking off at 19:30.

After a challenging loss against Valdosta, where the Blue Devils fell 48-35, the team is looking to regain its momentum. Tift held an early 7-0 lead, followed by a 14-7 advantage, but Valdosta took control, leading by two scores for much of the game. Despite the setback, head coach Jeff Littleton expressed optimism about his team’s offensive performance.

“We had a couple of long drives over 13 plays,” Littleton noted. “When you’re executing, moving the chains and executing the plays at that rate, it’s really good execution.” He emphasized the importance of creating explosive plays, citing that any offensive gains of 20 yards or more can significantly impact their performance.

The Blue Devils will need to maintain this offensive rhythm against a Camden defense that has faced difficulties in recent region games. Although the Wildcats began the season strong, their defensive statistics have declined, with only two sacks recorded in their four region matches.

Littleton highlighted the challenge posed by Camden’s defense, stating, “They like to bring some edge pressure with their outside backers and then mix it up with their inside backers.” He stressed the need for the offensive line to control the line of scrimmage to ensure the team’s success.

Another critical aspect for Tift will be addressing turnovers. Camden has been effective in forcing turnovers during region play, having created five fumbles and one interception. “They’re very athletic on the back end and their secondary and their linebackers get to the ball fast,” Littleton explained. He indicated that his players need to prioritize ball security during plays, especially during exchanges between the quarterback and running back.

Although neither team has playoff aspirations this season, Littleton is approaching Friday’s game with the intensity of a playoff match. “We want to execute and play well in our last game,” he stated. “We’re just treating this like a playoff game. We want to try to go out on a winning note and have some momentum heading into next season.”

As the Blue Devils prepare for this crucial match, fans and players alike are hopeful for a strong finish to the season.
