Eleanor Ann Patton, a beloved figure known for her vibrant life and adventurous spirit, passed away just six months before her 90th birthday. Born in Glouster, Massachusetts, Eleanor was one of ten siblings and later moved to Columbus, Georgia. In the late 1950s, she relocated to California, where she ultimately settled in Redondo Beach.
Throughout her career, Eleanor worked as an Executive Assistant for Northrop Aircraft. It was at a Northrop party in Malibu where she met her husband, Donald Patton. The couple married in 1962 and welcomed their son, Chris, into their family the following year, after which Eleanor chose to focus on raising her child.
Eleanor’s life was rich with friendships and experiences. She was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying activities such as tennis, skiing, skating, and golf. Her love for travel took her around the globe, including a memorable road trip to Alaska in a Volkswagen van. She also cherished moments spent with her family, friends, and church community.
Legacy and Family
Eleanor is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Catherine, along with her two grandchildren, Brandy and Harley. She is also remembered by her sister, Julie, and her brothers, Tom and Jerry, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who carry forward her spirit of joy and adventure.
Eleanor’s burial services will take place at Green Hills in Palos Verdes, where she will rest alongside her husband, who passed away in 2019.
