Born on December 20, 1943, in Manhattan Beach, Judith, affectionately known as Judy, spent her life in the South Bay area. She graduated from Mira Costa High School in 1961 and later attended UCLA, where her passion for education began to take shape. In 1968, at the age of just twenty-four, she established the Montessori School of Manhattan Beach. Starting with only twelve students, including her three children, Judy’s vision created a nurturing environment where curiosity and kindness thrived.

Judith is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John; her children, Jeff, Greg, Lynn, Darlyn, and Leila; and her cherished eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ardith and Herral Jones; her daughter Nadine; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
