Amy B. Koenig, a dedicated Army veteran and public servant, passed away on January 25, 2026, at the age of 67 in San Rafael. Her commitment to her community and her love for family were hallmarks of her life, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew her.
Born in 1958, Amy graduated from Dominican University, where she nurtured her passion for education and service. Her professional journey included significant roles in public finance, beginning with her work in accounting for the City of Novato. Later, she advanced to the position of Finance Director for Larkspur, where her expertise and leadership were highly valued.
Amy’s interests extended beyond her professional life. A passionate baseball fan, she also enjoyed shopping for a good bargain. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter Peggy, son-in-law Steve, grandchildren Joseph and Claire, as well as her siblings Robin, Greg, Kevin, and Katherine.
A Celebration of Life
To honor Amy’s memory, a celebration of her life will take place on March 8 at Dominican University in San Rafael. Family and friends are invited to come together to share stories and remember the vibrant spirit that Amy brought into their lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions toward a living memorial in Amy’s name, reflecting her enduring legacy as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Her life serves as a reminder of the importance of community service and familial bonds, values she embodied throughout her years.
