MACNY, The Manufacturers Association, has announced the addition of six new staff members to its team, enhancing its capabilities in human resources, workforce development, government relations, and public policy. This strategic expansion aims to strengthen the association’s support for manufacturers throughout Central and Upstate New York.
Key Appointments and Their Roles
Bill Brower joins MACNY as the director of public policy and community impact. With extensive experience in higher education, philanthropy, and community development, Brower will collaborate with manufacturers, elected officials, educators, and community partners. His initiatives have previously raised hundreds of millions of dollars for institutions such as Hamilton College, SUNY Geneseo, and Le Moyne College. Brower’s focus will be on shaping public policy and creating pathways for historically underserved populations to access technology training and career opportunities in emerging industries.
Courtney Kless has been appointed as a government relations specialist. She will act as a crucial link between MACNY, its members, and government officials across local, state, and federal levels. Drawing from her background in editorial leadership and higher education, Kless will communicate MACNY’s policy priorities and advocate for manufacturing interests, ensuring that the concerns of New York manufacturers are effectively represented.
In the realm of workforce development, Adrianna Patzer takes on the role of workforce development specialist, focusing on the growth of MACNY’s registered apprenticeship programs in Central New York. She will work with businesses and community partners to promote apprenticeship opportunities and tackle workforce challenges in high-demand industries. Her practical experience in employment services and job coaching will be instrumental in this initiative.
Also joining the workforce development team, Meriel Stokoe will support MACNY’s direct entry pre-apprenticeship programs. Stokoe aims to build connections between education and industry, facilitating greater employer participation and expanding career pathways aligned with apprenticeship opportunities. Her efforts will concentrate on participant recruitment and program coordination.
Moreover, Sarah Snyder will contribute as a workforce development specialist. With a background in public health and government operations, Snyder will assist in implementing direct entry pre-apprenticeship programming. Her skills in project management and stakeholder coordination will enhance participant enrollment and support program success.
Finally, Colette Emmons has been appointed as the human relations manager. Emmons brings over 15 years of human resources leadership experience across various sectors, including manufacturing and healthcare. She will oversee strategic and operational HR functions, focusing on recruiting, employee development, performance management, and compliance.
