Famous Dave’s BBQ has expanded its presence in California with the opening of a new location in Downey. The celebrated barbecue chain, renowned for its slow-smoked dishes, officially opened its doors at 12038 Lakewood Blvd. on October 16, 2023.
In a statement, J.D. Founded in 1994 by Hall of Fame Pitmaster Dave Anderson, Famous Dave’s has grown to include 107 locations across 30 states and three countries. The chain has garnered numerous awards for its barbecue, featuring signature items such as St. Louis-style ribs glazed with their proprietary “Rich & Sassy” sauce, alongside country-roasted chicken, Wilbur Beans, Texas beef brisket, and Georgia chopped pork.
The menu also includes popular dishes like catfish fingers, burgers, BBQ tacos, mac and cheese, and their Famous Bread Pudding. The new Downey location promises an inviting atmosphere, complete with a bar offering more than 20 beer options and multiple televisions for guests to enjoy during their visit.
This latest outlet joins other Famous Dave’s restaurants in nearby areas, including locations in Long Beach, Rancho Cucamonga, and Redlands. The expansion reflects the chain’s commitment to reaching barbecue enthusiasts across the region.
