Simone Biles has opened up about her experiences with cosmetic surgery, sharing insights on the significance of such conversations in a recent interview. The 28-year-old Olympic gymnast revealed details about her procedures after engaging her TikTok followers by inviting them to guess the work she had done. Biles emphasized the importance of being transparent and relatable, stating, “It’s just who I am, and I feel like I’ve always tried to be open, honest, and relatable.”
Biles highlighted that while her Olympic achievements may seem impressive, they do not represent the everyday challenges many face. She remarked, “Seeing me win medals at the Olympics, that’s not relatable. But what is relatable is how we feel about ourselves, what we go through, and how we share openly.”
In her conversation with PEOPLE magazine, Biles confirmed she has undergone three cosmetic procedures, with two being nearly undetectable. Although she did not initially disclose the specifics, she engaged with comments from her followers, confirming some guesses while keeping a playful tone about others. For instance, she hinted at her breast augmentation with a cherry emoji but openly discussed her lower blepharoplasty and earlobe repair.
Biles explained her decision to undergo lower blepharoplasty, stating, “I got a lower bleph because me and my family have, I call it, the ‘Biles eye bags.’ We’ve just always had them, hereditary, and so that was just a big flaw.” She added that the under-eye bags had become a concern during photoshoots, where makeup artists would often attempt to cover them up.
Additionally, Biles shared that the cosmetic surgery on her ear was necessary to address damage from an earring that was ripped out during her childhood. While discussing her breast augmentation, she clarified that her decision was not rooted in dissatisfaction with her body. “Obviously, you can notice the breasts,” she said. “But other than that, it’s just feeling good about yourself and loving yourself, and I’ve always been very vocal about that.”
Biles’ candidness about her surgeries not only sheds light on her personal journey but also serves as an encouragement for others to embrace their own experiences and insecurities. By sharing her story, she hopes to foster a deeper connection with her audience and promote self-acceptance.
