The Santa Clarita Master Chorale will present its annual holiday concert, titled “Illuminate the Season,” on December 7, 2023, at 16:00 local time. The performance will take place at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center located at College of the Canyons, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia.
This year’s highlight is Dan Forrest’s choral work, “Lux,” which features intricate harmonies and uplifting melodies, aiming to capture the essence of the festive season. According to the Chorale’s announcement, attendees can expect to be enveloped by the ethereal sounds of the performance, including the vibrant “Gloria! Gloria!” that promises to resonate throughout the venue.
The concert will also include a selection of beloved holiday classics, creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration. To engage the audience further, the evening will conclude with a lively caroling sing-along, inviting everyone present to join in and share the festive spirit.
In addition to the concert, the Santa Clarita Master Chorale will host its ninth annual Messiah Sing-Along on December 8, 2023, at Valencia United Methodist Church, 25718 McBean Parkway, Valencia. This event will feature soloists and an orchestra, allowing audience members to sing along with famous choruses from Handel’s “Messiah.”
Participants are encouraged to bring their own scores or borrow one at the door. Admission to the Messiah Sing-Along is free; however, donations are appreciated to support future events.
