The Miami-based ensemble, Mostly Baroque, will debut at the Adrienne Arsht Center with a series of three concerts in the Carnival Studio Theater from February 26 to March 1, 2026. The concert series promises a diverse array of classical performances, including opera, oratorio, and solo recitals, crafted to engage audiences with the richness of classical music.
Dr. David O. Hartman, Music Director of Mostly Baroque, expressed excitement about this upcoming series. “Mostly Baroque is proud to present an exclusive series showcasing the full breadth of classical performance that audiences love,” he stated in an official press release. He emphasized that the ensemble’s musicians have collaborated for over 25 years, creating a unique artistic synergy that will resonate throughout the concerts.
Concert Highlights Featuring Iconic Performers
Among the featured performances, bass-baritone and composer Johan Hartman will headline a 60-minute recital on February 27, 2026. This concert will include selections from Finzi’s “Let Us Garlands Bring” and Jacques Ibert’s “Don Quichotte songs.” Hartman will perform pieces in multiple languages, including English, French, German, and Italian. In addition, he will present original works from his debut EP, “Blood and the Moon,” released under Constitution Records.
The final concert of the series on March 1, 2026, will showcase Pergolesi’s “La Serva Padrona,” with Hartman performing alongside soprano Yi-Chun Sarah Tsai. The performance will also feature the Miami Oratorio Society, which will present spirituals by Florence Price and choruses from Händel’s “Messiah,” all supported by the Mostly Baroque Chamber Orchestra.
