Iyanla Vanzant Returns to Television with New Series on OWN

Iyanla Vanzant, the acclaimed life coach and television personality, is making her return to television with a new series titled Iyanla: The Inside Fix. Set to premiere on January 17, 2024, at 20:00 ET/PT on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), the series marks Vanzant’s first major project since her previous show, Iyanla: Fix My Life, concluded in 2021.

From 2012 to 2021, Vanzant hosted and produced Iyanla: Fix My Life, which aired a total of 136 episodes across ten seasons. Each episode concluded with updates on the guests’ progress, providing viewers with insights into their healing journeys. In her new series, Vanzant will reconnect with twelve former guests, revisiting their transformative stories and deepening the exploration of personal healing.

Vanzant expressed her vision for the new series, emphasizing the importance of internal work. “There comes a moment when fixing the outside is no longer enough,” she stated. “This is the moment where the noise fades, the demands disappear, the people disappear, and the only work left is the work within. This is where healing becomes holy. This is where truth finds its home. This… is The Inside Fix.”

OWN has elaborated on the series’ themes, stating that The Inside Fix will unveil new truths and provide fresh insights from the powerful stories previously shared. The network described the show as a journey toward establishing good “spiritual hygiene,” which aims to foster a renewed sense of self. The series promises to illustrate that the journey to becoming one’s best self is an ongoing process.

A trailer for the show was released, featuring Vanzant reflecting on her past interactions with guests. “I’ve come to unpack. Not this,” she says, gesturing to a suitcase, “That…” The teaser includes memorable moments from Iyanla: Fix My Life, including the iconic “Not on my watch” exchange. Vanzant explained her intent for the new show: “I am revisiting the stories, the teachings, and the wisdom of ‘Fix My Life’ to recapture and share the lessons with new eyes.”

She acknowledged that the world has changed significantly since her last show premiered over a decade ago. “Time has shifted me. Time has shifted us all,” she remarked. Despite these changes, Vanzant maintained that the need for healing remains constant. “Let the healing begin,” she concluded, signaling her readiness to help others navigate their journeys.

As anticipation builds for the launch of Iyanla: The Inside Fix, fans can look forward to a series that promises to deepen their understanding of personal growth and healing. The trailer hints at a blend of nostalgia and new insights that will resonate with viewers old and new.
