Anastasia Soare, the visionary behind the billion-dollar beauty brand Anastasia Beverly Hills, has released her memoir titled Raising Brows: My Story of Building a Billion-dollar Beauty Empire. Priced at $32 for the hardcover edition, the book became available on March 12, 2024, through major retailers, including Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
In her memoir, Soare reflects on her journey from Romania to the United States, detailing the challenges she faced in pursuit of her dreams. “Everybody was telling me, ‘You have to share your story,’ because I always like to support young entrepreneurs,” Soare explained. Her motivation to write stems from a desire to inspire others who might feel discouraged in their entrepreneurial endeavors.
Soare’s narrative begins with her childhood experiences under a communist regime in Romania. She recalls the pivotal moment when her husband sought political asylum at the American Embassy in Italy, which led to a lengthy wait of two and a half years for her to join him in the U.S. “I talk about the time growing up in a communist regime Romania, and the hurdles that we went through to come here,” she noted.
Upon arriving in the United States, Soare encountered significant obstacles, including language barriers and financial struggles. Yet, her passion for beauty and resilience ultimately led her to a breakthrough. “I worked in a beauty salon for almost two years. Meanwhile, I bought a disposable camera and started taking family pictures,” she said. This moment of self-discovery, combined with her memories of her mother sewing clothes, inspired the foundation of Anastasia Beverly Hills.
Throughout Raising Brows, Soare provides insights into the intricacies of her business journey, including her connections with high-profile celebrity clients and the various triumphs and challenges she faced as an entrepreneur. Soare hopes that her experiences will resonate with readers and motivate them to persist through their own struggles.
“They will have those moments when they think, ‘Oh, I’m going to give up. I cannot do it.’ They should think, ‘If Anastasia was able to do it without speaking the language, without having money, without knowing anyone and having the support of friends and family, I can do it too,’” she stated.
