Thursday Boot Company has officially opened its first West Coast retail location at 449 Octavia Street in San Francisco. The launch marks the company’s fifth store across the United States, joining existing outlets in New York, where it operates two locations. This new store is situated in the vibrant Hayes Valley neighborhood, known for its mix of culture and commerce.
The store showcases Thursday Boot Company’s complete product line, featuring meticulously designed interiors that reflect the local aesthetic. Collaborating with CHB Designs and All Day Breakfast, the store’s design incorporates warm woods, bright metal accents, and clean architectural lines. These elements pay homage to the Victorian heritage of the area. Additionally, the color palette is inspired by San Francisco’s famed fog, featuring shades of pale blue, soft grey, and muted green.
Emphasizing local craftsmanship, the store highlights contributions from Bay Area fabricators and artisans. Vintage furnishings have been sourced from local shops, including Stuff in the Mission District and Grand Central Station Antiques in Oakland. Design touches are reminiscent of beloved local dive bars, complete with a dartboard, pool table accents, curated vintage barware, and a brass seal, reflecting the brand’s roots.
“Our first days as a company were spent selling boots out of bars, one person at a time,” noted Wilson, the company’s CEO. “We wanted to capture that same warmth and hospitality, a place that feels welcoming the moment you step inside. Whether it’s a new pair of boots or a physical store, we always believe the details matter.”
To celebrate the opening, the company is hosting a series of events running through January 18, 2026. Daily activities include exclusive product giveaways, complimentary refreshments, and even free tattoos with purchase on Saturday afternoon, provided by local tattoo studio Idle Hands.
Looking ahead, Thursday Boot Company plans to accelerate its retail expansion, with new stores set to open in various cities across the United States by 2026. “With our own factory, years of production optimization, and a deeply engaged customer base, we finally felt ready to bring Thursday to life in physical spaces,” said Wilson. “We are moving swiftly but intentionally, choosing distinctive locations for stores that feel as considered as our footwear and apparel. Hayes Valley is an early step in a long journey ahead.”
This opening not only represents a strategic expansion for Thursday Boot Company but also reinforces its commitment to community engagement and local artistry. The new store is poised to become a staple in San Francisco’s retail landscape, appealing to both residents and visitors alike.
