Steele Hall Brewing, a popular taproom located in Trussville’s entertainment district, has announced that it will cease operations on January 24, 2026. Founded by friends and business partners Eric Mitchell and Scott Worthington, the brewery has been a staple of the local community for over two years, specializing in five core beer offerings.
The closure was communicated through a heartfelt message on the brewery’s social media platforms, expressing gratitude to its loyal customers and dedicated staff. The post read, “Oh the times we have had over the past three-ish years! We have so much to say at this moment, but first we want to say THANK YOU! Thank you to our loyal customers, our incredible staff and this city for allowing us to serve you and follow a dream.”
As the brewery approaches its final days, it will operate on a limited schedule, remaining open on Fridays and Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.. The team encouraged patrons to visit one last time to enjoy the atmosphere and their favorite brews. “So please come out and have a few more cold snacks with us, it sure would mean a lot!” the message continued.
Despite the impending closure, Steele Hall Brewing reassured its customers that their favorite beers will continue to be available through contract brewing, enabling distribution in various locations. This decision aims to maintain the legacy of the brewery’s unique offerings, even after the taproom’s doors close.
The announcement comes amid a challenging landscape for small businesses, particularly in the hospitality sector. Steele Hall Brewing’s closure adds to a growing list of local establishments that have had to make difficult decisions in recent years.
For those who have supported Steele Hall Brewing throughout its journey, the closing signifies not just the end of a business but the conclusion of a cherished community gathering spot. The brewery’s impact on the local culture and its contributions to the Trussville entertainment scene will be remembered fondly by patrons and employees alike.
As the date of closure approaches, many are reflecting on the vibrant moments shared within the brewery’s walls, marking a bittersweet farewell to a beloved establishment.
