Pell City Fire Station No. 2 Construction Progresses on Schedule

Construction of Fire Station No. 2 in Pell City has reached the halfway mark and is progressing on schedule. The facility, which measures approximately 16,000 square feet, is slated for completion by July 4, 2024. Blake Nelson, executive vice president of CMH Architects based in Birmingham, provided an update to the City Council last week regarding the ongoing project.

The new fire station is part of Pell City’s initiative to enhance public safety services and accommodate the growing needs of the community. The facility is designed to improve the response time of local firefighters and support their operations with modern amenities.

During the City Council meeting, Nelson detailed the construction phases that have been completed and outlined the upcoming tasks required to meet the projected completion date. He emphasized the collaborative efforts between the architectural team and construction workers, which have been vital in maintaining progress.

The existing fire station has served the community for many years, and the new station is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency. The project has garnered support from local residents, who look forward to the enhanced capabilities that the new facility will bring.

Pell City officials anticipate that the completion of Fire Station No. 2 will not only bolster emergency services but also create job opportunities during and after construction. This development represents a significant investment in the community’s infrastructure, reflecting a commitment to public safety.

As the project advances, updates will continue to be shared with the community to ensure transparency and keep residents informed. The successful completion of Fire Station No. 2 is a key milestone for Pell City, reinforcing its dedication to providing essential services to its citizens.
