Oneida County Health Department Moves to New Location for Improved Services

The Oneida County Health Department (OCHD) has officially relocated its offices from the **Adirondack Bank Building** at **185 Genesee St.** to the **Oneida County Office Building** located at **800 Park Ave.** in Utica. This strategic move is intended to enhance the coordination of services and strengthen internal operations, according to **Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr.**

“Centralizing these Health Department offices at the County Office Building will allow us to better coordinate services, strengthen internal operations, and make it easier for residents and partners to access the resources they need,” Picente stated. He emphasized that this relocation will also lead to cost savings for taxpayers by consolidating office space and reducing expenses. Despite the change in location, Picente assured that the commitment to delivering efficient, reliable, and high-quality public health services remains unchanged.

Relocation Details and Impact on Services

The relocated OCHD offices encompass several key divisions, including Administration, Special Children Services, Health Promotion, and Environmental Health. Importantly, the telephone numbers for these offices will remain the same, ensuring continuity in communication.

While there will be no changes in service delivery for Administration, Special Children Services, or Health Promotion, the Environmental Health Department’s in-person services have been affected by the move. Operators of permitted facilities—such as restaurants, hotels, motels, pools, campgrounds, and mobile home parks—are now required to mail or deliver permit applications and payments to the new location at the Oneida County Office Building.

Additionally, all rabies and animal specimen deliveries must now be directed to the County Office Building. It is crucial for individuals to arrange these deliveries in advance by calling **(315) 798-5064**. Any inquiries related to testing should also be addressed to that number.

Continuity of Health Clinic Services

OCHD’s clinic services remain unaffected by the relocation. Clinic hours will continue at **406 Elizabeth St.** in Utica, operating from Monday to Friday. For those in Rome, clinic hours will be available on specific dates and times. Residents seeking the most up-to-date information regarding clinic services are encouraged to visit **oneidacountyny.gov/vaccines**.

For any questions regarding the office relocation or services, the public can reach out via phone at **(315) 798-5064** or email at **[email protected]**. More information about the Oneida County Health Department and its services can be found at **oneidacountyny.gov/health**.

In summary, the relocation of the Oneida County Health Department’s offices aims to improve public health service delivery while maintaining a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness for the community.
