Hand & Stone Expands Wellness Reach in Connecticut with New Locations

Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa is set to expand its presence in Connecticut with new locations in Stamford, Cheshire, and Berlin. This growth comes under the leadership of Matthew Stanton, recently appointed as Chief Development Officer. The franchise aims to make wellness more accessible, emphasizing a transformative experience for its clients.

Rob Tobias, who operates Hand & Stone franchises in Orange and Norwalk, noted a significant shift in client attitudes after their visits. “The difference in their walk, voice, and mood is noticeable when they leave,” Tobias explained. He described the uplifting experience clients undergo, which he believes enhances their overall well-being.

With a national footprint of over 600 locations, Hand & Stone provides a membership-based model that encourages regular visits, typically at least once a month. The spa offers services such as skincare appointments and massages, each priced at $89.95. Tobias highlighted that while products are available for purchase, the primary focus remains on delivering quality treatments rather than sales.

Matthew Stanton brings over 15 years of experience in executive franchise leadership to Hand & Stone. His previous role as Chief Development Officer at Purpose Brands, which encompasses well-known franchises like Anytime Fitness and Orangetheory Fitness, has equipped him with valuable insights into the wellness industry. Stanton expressed enthusiasm about joining Hand & Stone, stating, “Watching the brand rise to lead the wellness category in average unit volume and unit growth has been remarkable.”

The expansion into new Connecticut locations is not just about increasing numbers; it also reflects a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. The ambiance of each spa is designed to be relaxing and welcoming, as emphasized by Tobias. He pointed out that approximately 60 percent of clients are women, many of whom prioritize caring for others over their own self-care.

As the holiday season approaches, gift certificates for spa treatments are expected to gain popularity. “What better gift can you give than the gift of wellness?” Tobias remarked, highlighting the spa’s role in promoting self-care among clients.

Tobias noted that the treatments at Hand & Stone focus on individual skin needs, helping clients achieve their desired results. “It’s about the quality of what you’re getting,” he said, emphasizing the spa’s dedication to personalizing care for each customer.

Hand & Stone’s forward momentum is supported by a strategic approach to franchise development that aims to empower franchisees. Stanton’s leadership is set to enhance the company’s ability to grow sustainably while fostering an environment where franchise owners can thrive.

With a clear mission to promote wellness across communities, Hand & Stone is poised to make a lasting impact as it expands its Connecticut footprint and beyond.
